Some sets are for the table. This one is for the table after dark.
Monster Mahj is October in tile form — the hour when the porch light comes on, the cat on the fence stops blinking, and someone says "one more game." The ink is purple and orange and old-bone gold on a white face, the mood is vintage-Halloween rather than gore: cobwebs in the corners, a raven under a thin moon, a black cat in a bow who knows exactly what she's doing. The pumpkins grin. The dragons hang in webs. Nothing here jumps out at you; it just watches.
Bring it out for the season, for a costume-party mahj night, or for the friend who wants the whole year to feel like the last week of October.
